Kamie received her BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Initially drawn to ideas of beauty and adornment she pursued a practice in art metals. Determined to redefine traditional concepts of wearable art, her work appropriates beauty and adornment through ornamenting the body with emotions.

Interested in the the intangible quality of feelings, states of mind, and fleeting thoughts, she draws inspiration from poetry, psychology, and philosophy. Particularly the study of mental imagery, the representation of things that have never been experienced yet can still be seen as images of the mind.

Her current body of work began with the idea that the mind is a universe. A place that exists physically; can be stepped into, viewed through perspective and explored. By giving thoughts and feelings embodiment, she welcomes the viewer to observe her interpretation of a ‘physical mind.’
